From Blues to Hip Hop
February 1 –28, 2011
Entry deadline, January 24

Artists may not write the songs or the words, but visual artists of every medium can and often do express responses to the music they hear.  “Blues to Hip Hop” may represent American tradition in music, but for centuries every culture has created rhythms, sounds, and lyrics that reflect universal emotions.  For this exhibit, artists are invited to respond in art to the music that inspires and moves them, whether about performers, composers, audiences, or sounds. Each artist may submit up to three entries.
