During the late nineteenth century art took a turn away from realism. From the first abstractions of color and light, to the changing focus on form, line, plane, and subject, abstract art came into it’s own during the twentieth century. Whether a distorted objective creation or a pure study of shape, space, line, and color in a non-objective work, abstract art is well loved in the twenty first century.
