Artists of the Continental Gin (May)

During the month of May, the TVAA Downtown Gallery is pleased to present Artists of the Continental Gin, curated by Jenny Keller. Located in Deep Ellum, the Continental Gin building is perhaps the oldest site of artist studios in Dallas.

Gin artists participating in this exhibition include Rob Aikey, Katherine Baronet, Donna Ball, Fannie Brito, Karla Ceballos, Christy Harris, Anne Hines,  Sarah Jones, Marsha Oliver Moser, David McGlothin, Carol Pancratz, Jan Perry, Heather Helen Ray, Carroll Swensen-Roberts, and TVAA members Bob Nunn, Jenny Keller, and Jan Partin.

TEXAS: Flora, Fuana & Cowboys (Oct)

The October TVAA Downtown Gallery exhibition is the second showing of TEXAS: Flora, Fauna & Cowboys; a three-part, three-category show, organized by Diana Moya of Frisco.

This is a digital entry, small format, juried, all media exhibition, with an option to travel.
Max. size, 16″ x 20″.
Deadline August, 10, 2012.
Entry, $30 (per category.)
Travel is for jury selected work only, for an additional fee.

Three categories: Texas flora, Texas fauna, and Texas cowboys
You may submit up to three works in each category.
Each category requires a separate entry fee and form.

Three venues
1) Best entries in each category will be exhibited in a Show & Sale at SoDeVis Gallery in Frisco, TX, September, 2012, then…
2) for an additional fee, best entries are invited to exhibit at the TVAA Downtown Gallery, October, 2012, and…
3) at the Museum of the Americas in Doral, FL, November, 2012.

Upstanders Quest Exhibit (Aug)

Student Artwork Show:
Illustrations by students of an upcoming graphic novel, Upstanders Quest: True Stories of Survivors of Slavery.

View art by students from George Bannerman Dealey, the DFW area, and art by ESL students in the San Diego Unified School District. A panel of judges will decide whose work will appear in the graphic novel, Upstanders Quest.

Self Portraits: Who Are You Gallery

Self Portraits: Who are You?

Attention TVAA Members! On January 10, 2011 TVAA will join Collin College in an exhibition, SELF PORTRAITS: WHO ARE YOU?

This will be an opportunity for students of Collin College to exhibit work with Texas Visual Arts Association.  The show will be similar to the Self Portrait Show in 2009.  It can be in all mediums, both 2D and 3D.

There are some great advantages to this show. There are no fees, and The Arts Gallery of Collin College will take responsibility for the following:

  • Sitters provided for the show.
  • Invitations and posters (TVAA will be provided with jpegs and pdfs to use in emails and postings to TVAA contacts).
  • Reception with food and beverages provided.

Large crowds are expected to see TVAA artwork as well as the students of Collin College.  All members of TVAA will need do is deliver their artwork and pick up artwork at the required time. This should be a great blend of student and professional work.
