CURATORS: Stephanie Lawhorn and Maegan Kirschner, TVAA Gallery Director

Stephanie Lawhorn is a contemporary/abstract artist inspired by the colors and textures viewed in nature as seen through the lens of her Christian faith. She often states that ‘God is the Greatest Artist’ and seeks to share the beauty of the Lord’s Creation through her paintings. Each piece, while consistent in the use of texture and/or vibrant color, becomes an entity of its own depending on the message the work is meant to convey.  Stephanie’s paintings are created in oils and/or heavy acrylics with the palette knife and her own fingers often being used to create the resulting textures. Although she currently works as an art educator in Texas, she herself is self-taught and enjoys exploring the creative freedom of her own intuition and His inspiration.

ARTISTS STATEMENT:  My art is an expression of my spirit to the spirit of others that connect with it. I seek to create a memory, a wish, a fantasy or moment of joy or peace in the soul of the viewer.

I pursue ideas, color combinations or images that attract my attention and paint them as an impression; or abstraction and some paintings are just for the fun of presenting something in an unusual manner.

All artwork must be wired correctly with D-rings. No ½” canvases will be curated without a frame. Gallery wrapped work must have clean edges and no staples showing. Work that does not follow gallery requirements will not be hung.  If invited to the exhibition you must sign up for one sitting day during the month or pay a $35.00 sitting fee for someone to cover your day. Any work not picked up on take down day with be stored for a $5.00 a day fee and then considered abandoned after 30 days. Any artwork sold pays a 25% fee to the TVAA.

Fees must be paid at the time of submission via the online form.  $30.00 for up to 3 images for Members and $45.00 for up to 3 images for Non-Members.
