“Winter Cheer” – TVAA Gallery Art Exhibition for December 2018

Curator:  Milessa Murphy Stewart

In Dallas, Texas, we rarely see snow in December but we do have our fireplaces ablaze and family gathered for special times. It doesn’t matter what faith you are celebrating during this season, we are all kindred spirits full of the gift of creativity and thoughtfulness. This delightful exhibit will be about what you depict the season is about.

This is a small piece show. All pieces are to be 9 x 12, 12 x 12, 11 x 14 or 14 x 14 (inches) with finished edges or framed; and wired according to the gallery standards. Nothing but those sizes will be accepted. If you are submitting a 3D piece, the size should be 12” or less.

I want to encourage you to:

  • Tell me a story
  • Lead me to dream
  • Make me feel warm and cozy
  • Make me smile

This will be the first year for the TVAA Downtown Gallery to be in its new location. The buying traffic should be better than ever. So put forth your best effort in hopes that your piece will sell during this exhibition.

About the Curator:  Milessa’s impressionist paintings mix a dab of fiction, maybe some facts, a bit of humor and a lot of color to capture the imagination in a world where there is little time to daydream. They are energetic and quirky with clues to a playful story.

Milessa is a full-time professional artist and previous gallery owner in Dallas. She is best known for her Dreamscape series and the #MMSProject52. She exhibits in Las Vegas, New York, Dallas, Frisco and McKinney. Though she is mainly a studio painter, she loves traveling the world to paint en plein aire. As a matter of fact, she is traveling to Banff Canada to paint for a Publisher’s Invitational November 2018. She has served on the TVAA Board of Directors as the Publicity Chair, Membership Chair and our Website Coordinator and Admin since 2016.
