The Art of Self

Please join us for the reception for “The Art of Self” on Sunday, March 6, from 2 to 4 at the Downtown Gallery. This show features the self portrait work of 23 artists and includes a wide array of media and styles.

The self-portrait is a unique opportunity to see more than just a piece of art–you also get a glimpse into the mind of the artist.  Life experiences, both painful and joyful, reveal themselves in the self-portrait. Creating the art itself can be cathartic, and artists may create many portraits throughout their lives, as they are changed by their experiences.

Each artist may submit up to three entries, 2-D or 3D media.  Emailed images should be 72dpi and no greater than 800 pixels in the largest dimension.  Please include the title, media, dimension, and price of each work.
