Sculptor Rich Morgan

October 26th, TVAA 4th Tuesday program will be with Rich Morgan, former president of American Institute of Architects, presently an artist and sculptor that you will want to meet and greet and view images of his work.

He has started his “second career” after spending 30 years in the firm of JarvisPutty Javis , Architects which later became JPJ Architects , serving as a principal and being involved in major projects such as the 70-story Bank of America Tower (the building outlined in green lights), mega-churches, over 300 schools, in civic activities such as the three-member team leading the redesign effort for the Trinity River Project. He continued to represent Dallas and the Park Cities on the Regional Transportation Council, the part of the North Texas Council of Governments that sets transportation policy for the sixteen counties that comprise the Metroplex.

Rich Morgan’s sculptures on Stacy Road and I-75 titled “Jazz Medley – From Nevelson to Village Logo” consist of five large “monoliths” in the median of Stacy Road. They are so infused with obscure references and meanings that the owner created an interpretive center to try to explain them to the public. His presentation given as a Gallery Talk at the MADI MUSEUM and GALLERY will be included in the TVAA program as well as current work in progress.

When Rich began his career as an artist several years ago, he became a member of TVAA for a while and exhibited at the TVAA Gallery at the Plaza. You will not want to miss this presentation at the Royal Lane Baptist Church, 6707 Royal Lane, at the intersection of Royal Lane and Hillcrest, starting at 7 pm. See you there and bring a friend!
